Today’s song: Bavle jharne (Wild torrents)

15 March, 2017

A song composed and sung by Papon (Angarag Mahanta) from his first solo Hindi album ‘The story so far'(2012). Written by Neeraj Rajawat, the song is a love letter where the mountain asks the torrents to carry his words to the sea, as the singer describes it before his performance for ‘One for the road’s’ MTV Indies. ‘One for the road’ was an interesting project of MTV Indies where musicians and bands are to performed by a roadside completely unannounced; therefore they get a live audience who are passing-by people, mostly unaware about these indie artists. And this program has been my introduction into the beautiful musical world of Papon instead of Coke studio India or MTV unplugged. The song is one of the few Hindi songs I have listened so far which is exclusively a song about nature and nothing else.
