Remember those moments when we sit through the whole night and realise a whole day has passed away from our life, and that’s just too much of a time to have passed away? And once for real, among all those looking-backs every now and then, we start moving ahead? Coming out of the world of fantasies and false hopes; stepping into the reality and understanding, that it may not be all black and white (a few shades faded though); this is a song about the youngsters standing at their own personalized edges of youth. This is a song about us. ‘The reason youth is wasted on the young’: maybe because only youth can make the young into lost stars lighting up the dark sky to find back their way, thus keeping them from getting lost in the black hole forever? Guess we’ll never know.
The song is from John Carney’s ‘Begin again'(2013) and also appears in Maroon 5’s fifth studio album ‘V’ (2014); written by Gregg Alexander, Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley, Nick Southwood, produced by Alexander and Lashley, and performed in the movie seperately by the lead casts- Keira Knightley and Adam Levine(Maroon’s lead vocalist), this song was nominated for the best original song for 87th Academy awards.
